On average, parent participation is roughly one or two times each month in the classroom. Parents are required to obtain and submit a 5104.013 background check and Medical Form to be in the class room.
What sort of curriculum is followed?
Tender Years uses play-based teaching methods. Experts agree that play-based teaching is the most appropriate and successful format for preschool children. As adults, we read and write to learn. Preschoolers prefer a hands-on approach to learning. They learn by touching, smelling, seeing, tasting, listening, and doing. In your son or daughter’s day at Tender Years, they are exposed to social development, reading, math, arts & crafts, language, science, music, and independent skills. We also use the Hand Writing Without Tears Method.
How much experience/education do the teachers have?
Our teachers are educated with relevant college degrees and highly experienced. To learn more about our teachers click here.
Does my child have to be potty-trained in order to start school at Tender Years?
Yes, all children must be DAYTIME potty-trained prior to starting school at Tender Years. Our staff gives many cues and prompts to help the process for the children. Your child needs to be able to go on their own, or prompted by an adult. Please also make sure your child is able to use the restroom unassisted by an adult.
